Releasing Ancestral Wounds and Reclaiming Your Ancestral Gifts

Who doesn’t want to reclaim their ancestral gifts?

In my practice, it is something that comes up often. We’ve all heard about the wounds that pass on to us from our parents, grandparents, and our ancestors, but we fail to notice the good. As much as I love healing — and I love that collectively, we as humans are seeking to heal ourselves, elevate our vibration, and help our planet heal — there is something that gets lost in the world of healing.

What do I mean by that? When we think of healing, we think of the things we want to rid ourselves from. We think of the wounds we want to close up. We think of the things we do not want anymore. Many of us forget about the inclusion piece. The piece where we heal by adding and reconnecting with our strengths, our energy, and our sacred memories.

This leads to the whole reason for this blog post.

Ancestral healing.

It encompasses so many things, but, in a nutshell, it is all about healing the challenging patterns that were passed down to us so we can move forward, refreshed, and making a positive impact on our future lineage. These patterns are ingrained in our body, our DNA, and our cells. They shape the way we live, show up, and grow. They make or break the reason our Soul is here right now.

The best part of ancestral healing is the acknowledgment you receive from your loved ones in your lineage. Whether you know it or not, they’re there. They are listening. They are watching. They are encouraging you. They are loving you from afar. They are hoping you take the reigns and consider the collective mission of your lineage.

There is always one person born to shake things up. If you’re reading this right now — heads up — it’s probably YOU!

When you begin unpacking the lessons that your ancestral lineage has left for you, you’ll find a beautiful and impactful healing journey. These are the most common lessons I’ve observed in my practice as a Reiki Master, Akashic Records reader/teacher, and Priestess with the Order of Melchizedek.

  1. Muting the voice: There are so many people suffering from a fear — or an inability — to use their voice in the way they would like to. There are so many people holding onto the wounds of their ancestors in terms of how willing, able, and confident they are in using their voice. Many of our ancestors weren’t able to vocalize their wants, needs, or deep desires. This energetic imprint can be passed down and it may show up as restriction in your ability to use your voice and relay your messages.

  2. Deep-seated fear: The world was a different place for your parents. The way they grew up, their experiences, their belongings, were completely different from your own. The world’s energy shifts with each generation. I even think back to my own childhood, waiting — not so patiently — for the AOL internet dial-up connection to go through so I could hop online or for the television commercials to pass so I could watch my favorite shows. My child doesn’t have to do any of that now. Technology has advanced and the need to “wait” has decreased. If I can notice the differences in my own lifetime, imagine how different life was for your great-great-great grandparents! The fear of survival is something that continues to show up in our lives because it was a necessary part of life for your ancestors. The need to survive was bigger than the need to succeed in some instances.

  3. Bypassing joy: With survival taking precedence — and loved ones succumbing to illnesses or physical wounds — joy wasn’t as easy to come by. Life was harder. Advancements in medical care have greatly increased our lifespans and our wellbeing. Child mortality rates — and the rates of mothers who died in childbirth — have decreased over the years. I can’t imagine a period of life where, as a mother, your child (or other loved ones) could die from something that is now, completely treatable. When I think about those situations, I can literally feel the joy being ripped from of my heart. Experiencing joy, fun, and entertainment was probably not as high on your ancestors list of priorities, but things are different now. Life expectancy has increased. There is so much more joy to be experienced in our lives and things that could have led to loss and grief centuries ago, may not be as prevalent now.

We all know our wounds hold a story and help us heal.

But there is something even better…

Our ancestral gifts are even more potent in helping us thrive. By tapping into our ancestral gifts, we have the power to receive our long-standing abilities and we can use those to our advantage. Our ancestral gifts help us heal — and they make it more fun!

When you discover an ancestral gift that is ready to be received, everything shifts! Healing gets easier. You feel more empowered. You experience greater success at lightning speed because you are utilizing your energy — your presence — over lifetimes.

Everyone has their own unique ancestral gifts, some of which may include:

  • divine love

  • musical abilities

  • healing abilities

  • psychic abilities

  • empathy

  • innovation

  • expression

  • resilience

This is not a complete list, but they are some of the more common ones that are revealed during my sessions! Your ancestral gifts, just like your ancestral wounds, are revealed to you always at the perfect moment. Your ancestors watch you walk, listen to you speak, and feel you heal. They know exactly what you are ready for, and they are ready to support you, when you are open to that support.

During our Ancestral Healing Calls, we do this exact thing. We uncover the most prominent ancestral wound that is impacting your wellbeing NOW, transmute it, heal it, and then replace it with an ancestral gift that is ready to be used! You leave the session feeling a deep, sacred connection to your ancestors and replace generational heaviness with lightness.

The self-discovery received in this offering is always mind-blowing and deeply nurturing. I think it is one of my favorite offerings, due to the sheer joy, love, and elevation it brings to my clients.

So, if you take one thing with you after reading this, it is to heal your wounds but add in the lightness, the positivity, the joyous vibrations that are available to you. Your body, your soul, and your ancestors, will thank you.

Your ancestral wounds are your teachers, but so are your ancestral gifts…
