Reclaiming Your Power: How to Reconnect With Your Energy, Intuition & Inner Strength

There comes a point in life when you might feel like you've lost your power. Maybe you don't trust yourself the way you used to. Maybe you're questioning your decisions, feeling disconnected from your intuition, or wondering where that confident, grounded version of yourself went. You might even feel like other people have more power over your life than you do.

But here's what I want you to understand: you have not lost your power. It's still within you. You may have simply lost your connection to it. And that doesn't mean you've done anything wrong. It doesn't mean your Spirit guides have abandoned you, or that you're somehow less powerful than you used to be. It means you're human.

As humans, we move through experiences that leave an energetic imprint on us. Loss, heartbreak, grief, disappointment, trauma, burnout, exhaustion, and illness can all take a toll over time. When you're dealing with challenging situations for months or even years, you can begin to feel disconnected from your own energy, your intuition, and your inner truth. You might not recognize yourself anymore.

I see this often in my work as a Reiki Master Teacher, energy healer, and psychic. People come to me because they feel stuck, they're ready for a change, or they know they're meant to move into something more but can't figure out how to get there. Some of the most common things I hear are, "I don't trust myself anymore," "I don't know which direction to go," "I feel disconnected," and "I feel completely lost."

What I've noticed is that these people aren't broken. Their energy needs attention. Their soul needs to be acknowledged and loved. Their intuition needs to be heard. Sometimes, your intuition has been trying to get your attention for a long time, but you've been so overwhelmed by everything happening around you that you haven't had the space to listen. If you're feeling powerless, if you feel like other people have control over your decisions, or if you're simply ready to cultivate a stronger sense of personal power, it's time to start listening to your intuition, your energy, and your body.

Signs You're Ready to Reclaim Your Power

Sometimes what feels like a lack of confidence or direction is actually an energetic imbalance, emotional overwhelm, or a sign that something within you needs attention. When you're carrying too much, it can become difficult to hear your own inner guidance. You might be ready to reclaim your power if you're tired of seeking validation from everyone else, if you feel called to do something differently but fear keeps stopping you, or if you know you're meant for something more but aren't sure what that looks like yet. Maybe your intuition keeps nudging you in a particular direction. You keep noticing patterns, receiving signs, or having experiences that seem to point you toward something, but you continue to ignore them. You might also feel disconnected from your creativity, abundance, joy, or the things that once made you feel like yourself. These can be invitations to pause and pay attention. Your soul may be calling you forward, but you have to be willing to listen.

Your Lowest Moments Can Become Turning Points

When I look back at my own life, some of the moments when I felt the lowest were actually the moments that led to the greatest transformation. The times when I felt embarrassed, ashamed, confused, or completely lost weren't necessarily failures or punishments. They became opportunities for expansion, healing, and growth. Sometimes there's a version of yourself that needs to fall away so you can step into a new version of who you're becoming. And that isn't always comfortable. It can be scary to release what you know, question the way you've been living, or make a decision that takes you in a completely different direction. But what if those uncomfortable moments are invitations? What if the situation you're experiencing is giving you an opportunity to choose something new? You don't have to force yourself to make a major change overnight. You don't need to have every answer. But you can start by recognizing when something no longer feels aligned and allowing yourself to consider a different path.

3 Ways to Reconnect With Your Personal Power

1. Create Space to Hear Your Intuition

The first thing you need to do when you're ready to reconnect with your power is create space. The world is heavy and noisy. We have so many responsibilities, roles, expectations, and people wanting our attention. Everyone has an opinion about how you should live your life, what you should do next, and which direction you should take. But you cannot spend all your time listening to everyone else and expect to hear your own inner wisdom. Your intuition doesn't always communicate loudly. Sometimes it whispers. And if you're constantly surrounded by noise, distractions, and other people's opinions, you might miss what it's trying to tell you. Make a little time for yourself each day. Journal, meditate, practice Reiki, spend time in nature, take a bath, or simply sit quietly and focus on your breathing. You don't have to do anything elaborate. The goal is to give yourself enough quiet to tune in and ask, "What is my soul trying to tell me?" Then give yourself the opportunity to listen.

2. Pay Attention to Your Energy

I bring up energy because I've been practicing Reiki since 2011, and it has genuinely changed my life. I teach Reiki classes, offer sessions, and practice it on myself. One of the things I love most about Reiki is how it can support you in reconnecting with your energy and creating a greater sense of balance. Your body is made of energy, and when you're feeling overwhelmed or energetically depleted, it can affect how you experience yourself and the world around you. You might feel scattered, disconnected, exhausted, or unable to think clearly. When you take time to care for your energy, you may begin to feel more grounded, centered, and connected to yourself. This is something I focus on every month inside my Sacred Circle Collective membership, where members receive ongoing energetic support through group distance Reiki, intuitive guidance, and collective Spirit messages. Energy healing isn't going to make decisions for you. It won't tell you exactly where to go or remove every challenge from your life. You still have to make your own choices and move through your own experiences. But energy work can support you in releasing what you're carrying, reconnecting with your inner truth, and creating space to hear your intuition more clearly.

3. Start Making Decisions From Your Own Inner Wisdom

This is a big one. When you feel disconnected from your power, it's easy to look outside yourself for answers. You might ask everyone what they think, seek validation before making a decision, or wait for someone else to tell you what you should do. But the more you rely on other people to make your decisions, the less opportunity you give yourself to trust your own intuition. The next time you're feeling confused or uncertain, pause before reaching out to someone else. Take a breath and ask yourself: "What do I need to do? What is the best move for me? What feels true?" You don't have to ignore advice or stop asking for support. There's nothing wrong with receiving guidance from people you trust. But there's a difference between gathering perspective and giving someone else the authority to decide how you should live your life. Every time you make a conscious decision based on your own inner wisdom, you strengthen that connection. Every time you honor what you feel, take inspired action, or choose something that feels aligned with you, you're practicing personal power.

You Don't Need to Become Someone New. You Need to Remember Who You Are.

You are not being asked to become someone new. You are being asked to remember who you are at the soul level, at the energetic level. You don't need to learn more. You don't need to ask for permission. You don't need to prove your worth or become someone other than yourself. You need to reconnect with your intuition, your soul, and the power that's already within you.

Think about all the experiences you've carried. The old stories, limiting beliefs, emotional wounds, and energetic imprints that may still be influencing how you see yourself. Sometimes, these experiences create so much noise that you forget what's underneath them. When you begin releasing what no longer belongs to you, you create space to reconnect with your power. And the more you step into it, little by little, the more your choices begin to reflect who you truly are.

You deserve to make decisions that are aligned with you. You deserve to take up space, share your gifts, and allow yourself to be seen. You deserve to create a future that brings you joy, happiness, and peace. So if you're feeling lost, confused, or disconnected right now, don't assume your power is gone. It hasn't left you. It may simply be waiting for you to slow down, get quiet, and remember where it is. You don't have to figure everything out today.

Start by reconnecting with yourself. Listen to your energy. Trust the nudges you're receiving. And give yourself permission to make choices that honor the person you are becoming. Your power is still within you. It's time to let it shine.
